Commission for Relations with Slovenes in Neighboring and Other Countries

The Commission for Relations with Slovenes in Neighboring and Other Countries:

- monitors the state of affairs of Slovenes living in neighboring and other countries;

- monitors the cooperation of civil society organizations with Slovenes in neighboring and other countries;

- co-formulates the policy of the Republic of Slovenia in fields related to Slovenes living in neighbouring and other countries;

- as appropriate, includes issues related to Slovenes in neighbouring countries and other countries in legislation where necessary;

- promotes the interests of the Slovenes in neighbouring and other countries in drafting and adopting the national budgets of the Republic of Slovenia;

- co-formulates and proposes programs of national interest pertaining to concern for Slovenes in neighboring and other countries;

- formulates positions on individual issues pertaining to this field,

- informs the National Assembly of general and specific issues encountered by Slovenes in neighbouring and other countries;

- promotes the elimination of problems encountered by Slovenes in neighbouring and other countries, with due consideration of their opinions and proposals; and

- monitors the implementation of the policy of the Republic of Slovenia concerning Slovenes in neighboring and other countries by the executive state authorities.
